WEEKLY SOCIAL RIDES IN THE AREA

 

Please note the club has NO OFFICIAL TRAINING/SOCIAL RIDES

 

The rides listed have been sourced from several local riding groups and are not official club events or training rides and, as such, the Albany Cycling Club takes no responsibility for any injury or damage incurred on any social ride. Each rider participates at their own risk.


The ACC strongly recommends all individuals taking part in these rides take out Cycling Australia membership which includes Public Liability Cover and, for Ride Comprehensive Memberships and above, Personal Accident Cover. Click here to join, or contact us for more information.

Prior to joining one of these rides please read our Bunch Ride Etiquette. All riders joining a social ride are expected to know and adhere to these guidelines.  

 

Although we aim to keep this list updated, please contact us if you want to check details before attending one of the start points.

 

Please arrive in advance to the start time as rides leave promptly at the listed time.

Lucy’s Loops on Monday

Start: 6am outside BCF (big roundabout)

Finish: Approx. 7.10am Cosi’s Café

Comments: Recovery ride averaging 28km/hr. Ride to Little Grove and Robinson. Approx 35km

Tuesday Circuit

Name: Intermediate Group

Start: 5.20am outside Coles on Albany Highway

Finish: Approx. 6.30am Bay Merchants Café

Comments: Medium pace averaging 30-34km/hr with some fast sections around 45km/hr. Ride to Little Grove and Robinson. The group will wait for slower riders at defined points. Approx 40km

 

Name: Fast Group

Start: 5.35am outside Coles on Albany Highway

Finish: Approx. 6.35am Bay Merchants Café

Comments: Medium pace averaging 35km/hr+ with some fast sections around 50km/hr. Ride to Little Grove and Robinson. The group will NOT wait for slower riders. If you get dropped, use the designated short cuts. Approx 40km

Recovery Wednesday Bakery Ride

Start: 6am outside Coles on Albany Highway

Finish: Approx. 6.50am Dylans Café

Comments: Recovery ride averaging 28km/hr. Ride to Little Grove and Return.

Thursday Loop

Slack Pack

Start: 5.30am Bay Merchants Café

Finish: Approx. 6.25am Bay Merchants Café

Comments: Pace averaging 24-27km/hr. Various routes.

Intermediate Group

Start: 5.40am Information Bay Cnr Chester Pass Road and Mercer Road

Finish: Approx. 6.30am Bay Merchants Café

Comments: Medium pace averaging 30-34km/hr with some fast sections around 45km/hr. Ride to Little Grove and Robinson. The group will wait for slower riders at defined points. Approx 30km, some hills.

 

Fast Group

Start: 5.35am outside Bay Merchants Café

Finish: Approx. 6.40am Bay Merchants Café

Comments: Medium pace averaging 35km/hr+ with some fast sections around 50km/hr. Ride to Little Grove and Robinson. The group will NOT wait for slower riders. If you get dropped, use the designated short cuts. Approx 40km, Hard Training Ride with hills.

Recovery Friday Bakery Ride

Start: 6am outside Coles on Albany Highway

Finish: Approx. 6.50am Dylans Café

Comments: Recovery ride averaging 28km/hr. Ride to Little Grove and Return.

Saturday Ride

Start: 7am outside Bay Merchants Café

Finish: Approx. 9am Bay Merchants Café

Comments: 40-60km Can be hit and miss who turns up depending on race calendar. Post/check Southern Cyclists facebook page.

Sunday Ride

Start: 7am outside Dome Café/Carpark

Finish: Approx. 9am Cosi’s Café

Comments: 40-50km Non Racing Sundays. Generally Quaranup & Frenchies Return. Wait points for slower riders.

Public Holidays

Start: 7am outside Dome Café/Carpark

Finish: Approx. 9am Cosi’s Café

Comments: 50-70km
